IMCO overcomes challenges via better construction quality control

IMCO Construction faced a highly complex water‑treatment project on one of Washington’s most remote sites—everything had to be barged in, plans were incomplete, multiple disciplines needed daily coordination, and wildfire evacuations compressed the schedule. To meet these challenges the team adopted Autodesk BIM 360 tools, notably BIM 360 Glue for model coordination and BIM 360 Field for daily updates and issue tracking, alongside drones, laser scans and surveying to drive construction quality control.

Using Autodesk BIM 360 with model‑based and survey workflows, IMCO coordinated civil, mechanical, design and survey teams, prefabricated kits off‑site, and tracked issues in real time. The results: IMCO completed a 15‑year scope in just eight months, had only one minor layout error, dramatically reduced rework and downtime, recovered from a six‑week wildfire delay, and created a new O&M revenue stream by delivering an operations model tied to the BIM 360 platform.
