Case Study: Sunway Group achieves centralized BIM collaboration, reduced clashes and faster project delivery with Autodesk BIM 360

A Autodesk BIM 360 Case Study

Preview of the Sunway Group Case Study

How Sunway is Leading Technological Advances in the Construction Industry

Sunway Group, one of Malaysia’s largest conglomerates and the owner of Sunway Construction, faced the challenge of moving from paper and 2D workflows to 3D BIM while overcoming leadership concern about software costs, siloed files, and inconsistent project data. To centralize collaboration and standardize workflows, Sunway adopted Autodesk BIM 360 as its Common Data Environment, integrating it with existing tools like Revit and AutoCAD to support its digital transformation.

Using Autodesk BIM 360 as a central cloud hub, Sunway now maintains around 60 active projects with more than 100 external consultants, contractors, and subcontractors accessing the same project data natively. The vendor’s platform streamlined document management, reduced inconsistencies and rework, cut clash issues through early BIM coordination, saved time on administration, and created digital-twin-ready records for facility management — improvements reinforced by targeted training and onboarding.
