Clayco, a Chicago-based design, construction, and development firm, faced a breakdown in its model-based BIM process once work moved to the job site: field crews relied on paper drawings that were often outdated, slowing decisions and risking errors. To bring real-time, accurate data to the field, Clayco turned to Autodesk BIM 360, leveraging Autodesk Building Design Suite Ultimate along with Autodesk BIM 360 Glue and Autodesk BIM 360 Field.

Autodesk BIM 360 was deployed on iPads so field teams could run QA/QC checklists, capture photos and markups, create and track issues, and access the cloud-based 3D model via BIM 360 Glue. The change cut time spent gathering decision information by 1.7 hours per user per week, reduced issue creation/distribution time by 80% (about 1.2 hours per issue), and shortened weekly coordination meetings from two hours to one—while improving accountability, safety reporting, and overall project efficiency.
