A Autodesk BIM 360 Case Study
China State Construction Engineering Corporation served as a general contractor on the China Zun Tower, a 528 m super‑tall, complex project with a compressed 62‑month schedule, severe seismic and site constraints, gigantic concrete pours, and highly intricate steel, curtain wall and MEP systems. To meet these challenges the team adopted a lifecycle BIM approach supported by Autodesk BIM 360 (alongside Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Recap Pro and Dynamo) for model sharing, coordination and field access.
Using Autodesk BIM 360 for cloud collaboration and model-based workflows, the project implemented clash detection, 4D simulation, prefabrication, 3D scanning and on‑site inspections (Autodesk BIM 360 Glue on iPad), plus Revit/Navisworks‑based detailing and scheduling. The result: the tower was built in 62 months at about 1.4× the speed of similar projects, over 90% of model clashes were resolved, rework and modifications fell by 65%, more than 6,200 defects were detected and fixed early, large concrete pours saved ~20% time, construction waste fell ~90%, and usable floor area was increased by 7,200 m2 — demonstrating measurable impact from Autodesk BIM 360‑enabled BIM processes.
