Case Study: Mortenson Construction achieves faster, more effective field inspections with Autodesk BIM 360

Autodesk helps construction firm implement cloud-based BIM solutions for better project outcomes

Mortenson Construction, a U.S. and Canada–based builder with over 3,000 employees, sought to improve its quality control (QC) workflows so field staff could spend less time re‑entering data and more time on-site. To address this, Mortenson signed an Autodesk BIM 360 enterprise agreement and engaged Autodesk Consulting to deploy cloud-based Autodesk BIM 360 Field and Autodesk BIM 360 Glue across its regional offices.

Autodesk BIM 360 and Autodesk Consulting used a rapid train‑the‑trainer rollout to implement the new processes across 10 offices, eliminating redundant data entry and paperwork and improving collaboration. The deployment cut inspection time, increased inspection scope and field time, and in the first five months was used on 58 projects, producing 8,200 checklists and over 110,800 discrete observations—demonstrating measurable efficiency and effectiveness gains with Autodesk BIM 360.
