Arkansas Children’s Hospital Using Construction Data to Build Operations From Day One

Arkansas Children’s Hospital needed a way to transition its new 233,000 sq. ft. Arkansas Children’s Northwest facility from construction to operations with a fully populated computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) on day one. To capture asset data throughout design and construction and deliver it to operations, the hospital chose Autodesk BIM 360, using BIM 360 Ops alongside Revit, BIM 360 Glue and BIM 360 Field to ensure asset information was collected, tracked and ready before opening.

Autodesk BIM 360 enabled barcode/QR-tagged assets to flow from Revit through BIM 360 Field into BIM 360 Ops, supported staff training and punch‑list workflows, and delivered measurable results: more than 2,700 assets in BIM 360 Ops at opening, 1,700+ work orders during transition, over 13,000 tickets closed in year one, an estimated savings of almost 2,100 staff‑hours in the first year, a 15‑minute reduction in average work‑order resolution time, and roughly 9.5 hours/week (≈500 hours/year) saved by halving follow‑up calls—while keeping the team survey‑ready for Joint Commission inspections.
