Safari Auth0 SSO Drives B2B Expansion

Safari, a subsidiary of O’Reilly Media, offers a digital learning portal used by hundreds of corporate clients and wanted to expand further into the enterprise market. To win larger deals and simplify onboarding, Safari needed robust SSO that supported SAML/AD FS/Google Apps, Python/Django and native mobile apps, handled varied customer identity implementations and met strict security and privacy requirements. Building an in-house solution would have taken significant engineering time, so Safari evaluated third-party options.

Safari implemented Auth0 via a short POC that reused existing Python Social Auth tooling, completed a pilot in three weeks, and rolled web and mobile SSO into production in under two months. Auth0’s SAML handling, rules-based mapping, logging and support reduced integration effort and support costs, enabled seamless mobile authentication, and sped enterprise onboarding — leaving Safari with multiple enterprise accounts, thousands of active users, dozens more transitioning to SSO, and a scalable path for future B2B growth.
