How The Motley Fool Delivers Better Security and UX With Auth0

The Motley Fool, a global financial media and subscription company with nearly a million Stock Advisor subscribers and a portfolio of services, found its homegrown authentication unable to keep pace with growth. Facing rising security and privacy concerns and a desire for modern, user-friendly sign‑in options like social login and passwordless email, the company needed a more robust, scalable identity solution.

They implemented Auth0 to enable SSO across 12 domains and roughly 50 apps, applying app-specific security settings (including MFA) and rolling out passwordless “magic links” and brute-force detection. The switch delivered a seamless UX with stronger monitoring—blocking password-spray attacks and improving incident visibility—resulting in simpler, more secure authentication and greater confidence in protecting customer data.
