How Siemens Centralized Their Login Experience With Auth0

Siemens, a global technology powerhouse with hundreds of divisions and 385,000 employees (as of September 2019), faced fragmented, resource-intensive login procedures that created user confusion, operational overhead, and security risk. The company needed a secure, standardized authentication platform to simplify access for customers and partners while protecting a large and complex application estate.

Working with Auth0, Siemens built Siemens ID — a centralized, multi-tenant login service that connects per‑operating‑company tenants to a central identity tenant via OpenID Connect and supports customizable integrations. By adding Multi‑Factor Authentication and Attack Protection, Siemens reduced identity-management overhead, increased stakeholder acceptance, improved company-wide security, enabled faster rollouts, and created a scalable platform that lets teams focus on service improvements and delivers savings for application owners.
