Case Study: Providence achieves unified patient identity and faster digital innovation with Auth0

A Auth0 Case Study

Preview of the Providence Case Study

How Providence Innovates for Patients With Auth0

Providence is a national, not-for-profit health system serving millions across seven states that set up its Digital Innovation Group (DIG) to modernize patient experiences. DIG built DexCare to route patients to the right care but ran into a major challenge: fragmented legacy EMRs, strict privacy and interoperability regulations, and the need for a federated, multi-tenant identity solution to deliver a seamless, secure experience.

DIG partnered with Auth0 for a developer-friendly, standards-based identity platform (multi-tenant administration, social federation, passwordless, SAML/OIDC, AD/LDAP, etc.), enabling rapid integration and flexible federation with customers’ existing systems. The result: faster innovation without rebuilding identity, unified single sign-on and self-service capabilities that reduce friction for patients and providers, and an expanding partnership across Providence to scale the patient-first digital experience.
