Case Study: Permission.io achieves secure, scalable authentication and a faster launch with Auth0

A Auth0 Case Study

How Permission.io Setup Authentication 3 Months Before Launch

Permission.io is a crypto-powered permission advertising platform that pays users in ASK tokens for engaging with ads and sharing their data. Facing rapid growth (over 450,000 users) and the need for “bank-like” security to prevent fraud and token theft, the startup found its homegrown multi‑factor authentication too costly to maintain and unable to scale quickly enough for an on‑time September launch.

Permission.io implemented Auth0 as a consumer‑focused identity solution, going from setup to live in three months and enabling MFA, secure sign-up/login, and account management. The move saved about six months of development and ongoing maintenance, scaled to handle peaks of roughly 475 users per second, and freed the team to ship new products like a browser extension and Shopify app while leaving authentication and safety to Auth0.
