Coles, one of Australia’s largest retailers with over 2,500 outlets and 21 million weekly customers, faced a sudden digital surge when the pandemic shifted roughly 70% of grocery purchases online. Their fragmented identity systems across multiple channels prevented omnichannel personalization and threatened the seamless, secure experiences customers now expect.

Coles chose Auth0 and worked with Auth0 Professional Services to centralize identity, first integrating authentication into a new mobile app for 600,000 users and deploying a working flow within days. Within three months about 150,000 customers (25% of the soft-launch audience) opted into personalized experiences; Coles is now using Auth0’s customizable flows, MFA, rules, and progressive profiling to improve security, accelerate feature rollout, and extend personalization across channels.
