US Automotive Company, a US automotive leader, needed a way to remotely and wirelessly update firmware and software on vehicle ECUs and related components without relying on dealership visits or safety recalls. Auriga provided R&D, prototyping, and C++/IoT-based development for a vehicle diagnostics system enhancement built on QNX.

Auriga developed a fully functional microprocessor platform with MMU under QNX OS, enabling automatic update checks, configuration data analysis, server communication over GSM/LTE, and load/install of updates via CAN. The solution let the customer fix ECU software bugs remotely, avoid dealership visits for planned updates, and roll out new user preferences and feature upgrades on the fly, reducing recall-related service needs.
