Medical Device Porting to Cortex M4

Major Worldwide Infusion Pump Systems Manufacturer hired Auriga to modernize its infusion pump controlling application, which was running on a legacy platform with some end-of-life components. The customer needed to port the software to a newer ARM Cortex M4 platform and a new RTOS while preserving behavior, performance, and compatibility with the existing build environment.

Auriga ported the application from 16-bit x86 to 32-bit Cortex M4, migrated legacy SMX components to ARM-based SMX, and rewrote x86 assembly into ARM assembly. Auriga also introduced a new compiler and toolchain, ran legacy manual and automated tests, and built a close-to-reality hardware prototype. The result was a modern, energy-efficient solution delivered quickly and within budget, with backward-compatible source trees and expected performance maintained.
