Medical Device Manufacturer engaged Auriga to develop an automated cardiac defibrillation algorithm for an innovative defibrillator-monitor. The customer needed a reliable, resource-efficient solution that could support adult and neonate operation while meeting strict medical device standards.
Auriga delivered a C++ and MATLAB-based algorithm optimized for low resource consumption on an STMicroelectronics 64-development board, with automated testing, ECG tracking using one derivation, and an alert interface to initiate defibrillation. The solution reduced decision-making time by up to 10 ms, achieved high cardiac rhythm recognition accuracy (96.2% vs. 90% claimed by the standard), and was compatible with IEC 60601-2-4 and ERC 2010 resuscitation guidelines.
