Leading Smartphone Service Provider engaged Auriga to build a prototype for a first-of-its-kind smart video streaming app that could adjust on the fly to channel throughput and end-device screen size. The goal was to create a real-time video transcoding service for a new mobile video experience across smartphone, iOS, Android, and web platforms.

Auriga delivered the prototype in just 2 months, using Amazon S3, EC2, and Elastic Balancer for scalable storage, playback, and load distribution, along with real-time FLV/H.264 transcoding and flexible caching. The prototype evolved into a commercial TV-on-demand solution bundled with the customer’s flagship device, with added fail-safe monitoring and support for iOS, Android, and web clients.
