Ministry of the Interior of Colombia (SIPI) - Customer Case Study

The Ministry of the Interior of Colombia (SIPI) — specifically its Department of Infrastructure and Development — needed to manage complex Viability, Approval and Supervision processes for nationwide infrastructure projects involving >1,100 mayors, 32 departments and multiple national agencies. Manual coordination created poor traceability, required in‑person document submission, and in 2015 saw 974 projects with an average of 120 pages each, where collating took about one hour per project (the equivalent of roughly 120 eight‑hour workdays per year). To address this, the Ministry selected AuraQuantic and its Helium iBPMS Platform as the BPM technology for SIPI.

AuraQuantic implemented a semi‑automated SIPI solution with document management, role‑based security, digital signatures, web access and real‑time dashboards, enabling coordinated participation by internal and external users. The deployment delivered integrated people/process/technology workflows, real‑time monitoring, KPI and activity logs, reduced process steps and response times to more than 1,100 territorial entities, and eliminated much paper handling and travel — driving measurable time and cost savings and improved transparency across projects funded by FONSECON.
