VUI drives a pioneering projectin Latin America to streamline business start-up procedures

Ventanilla Única de Inversión (VUI) is a Costa Rican public‑sector initiative led by PROCOMER, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and the Ministry of Economy to simplify and centralize the procedures and permits required to start and run a business. Faced with legacy process software that was limited in development scope and forced manual data transcription, VUI — advised by an external consultant — moved to replace it with a self‑management, process automation platform and chose AuraQuantic to build a single, digital channel for citizens, officials and suppliers.

Built on AuraQuantic technology, the VUI platform automates end‑to‑end permit workflows and integrates documentation and back‑office systems, producing measurable gains: Sanitary Operating Permit processing fell from 90 days to 1 day, data processing times dropped 100%, procedure traceability and paper use are now 100% digital, and travel requirements declined by 80%. To date AuraQuantic supports dozens of automated procedures (78 implemented, 114 in automation) and is used by 51 local governments, improving transparency, user satisfaction and interoperability across Costa Rica’s public administration.
