Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) — through its Business & Community Solutions unit — needed a more flexible, accessible system to manage continuing education and workforce development across two main campuses and five community centers. Prior to Augusoft’s Lumens, NICC relied on Ellucian Colleague for enrollment but lacked online registration, a contract training module, easy data retrieval, and customizable reporting, which made processes cumbersome and consumed staff time.
NICC went live with Augusoft Lumens (Lumens Professional) in January 2011, adopting internet-based course management, online self-registration, a contract training module, and custom reporting plus an integration with BrightSpace. The result: an immediate shift to 34% self-registration online, streamlined management of roughly $3.8M in annual revenue and 24,000 unique registrations, better benchmarking and reporting without programmers, reduced staff and tech overhead, and ongoing support from Augusoft.
