Case Study: St. Petersburg College rapidly launches and streamlines its Small Business Entrepreneurship Academy with Augusoft Lumens

Entrepreneur Identifi es Need for Practical Small Business Academy; St. Petersburg College Turns Idea into a Reality

St. Petersburg College launched a Small Business Practical Entrepreneurship Academy to meet a community need for fast, hands‑on entrepreneurship training but faced logistical and administrative challenges—especially rapid enrollment, affordable pricing, and reducing repetitive staff tasks. To support its Corporate Training Department and enable online services, St. Petersburg College implemented Augusoft’s web‑hosted Lifelong Learning Management System, Lumens, in January 2009.

Augusoft’s Lumens provided online registration, a shopping cart for immediate payments, contract‑training client tracking, and integration with the college’s PeopleSoft ERP, consolidating multiple databases and reporting functions. The result: online enrollments rose from 0% to an average of 75% monthly, staff time spent on paperwork dropped, sales productivity increased, and St. Petersburg College gained clearer cash‑flow and course performance data to make better program decisions.
