A Augment Case Study
Augment worked with the Université de Strasbourg’s Faculty of Dental Surgery to introduce augmented reality into dental teaching. The challenge was to integrate interactive 3D anatomy models into both lectures and practicals so every student could view models at their desk and instructors could efficiently compare current student work with past cohorts.
Augment provided AR models and printable trackers that students scanned with their own devices, enabling professors to demonstrate tooth morphology in class and to overlay comparisons during practical sessions. The tool was also used in a successful PhD thesis defense on AR in dentistry (awarded top marks) and has since been adopted across the dental school to improve visualization, individualized access, and practical assessment.
