XTO Energy reduces pipeline compliance risk with Audubon’s 2-year O&M support

XTO Energy, a subsidiary of ExxonMobil, needed to achieve regulatory compliance for a new greenfield crude oil pipeline in the Permian Basin to meet specific Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) requirements. The challenge involved developing a complete operations and maintenance program. To address this, they engaged vendor Audubon for its pipeline services and regulatory compliance expertise.

Audubon implemented a sophisticated solution centered on a custom ArcGIS Online portal, which included multilayer mapping and analytical tools for the pipeline route. This system was integrated with SharePoint for data sharing, scheduling, and tracking. Audubon also developed a program to migrate as-built data for an existing pipeline. The result was an enhanced O&M program that improved reporting and reduced risks for XTO Energy, with Audubon providing ongoing data management and technical support for two years following implementation.
