Trafigura Trading loads 60,000 bbl/h across eight VLCCs with Audubon

Trafigura Trading required an efficient, alternative offshore oil-loading terminal in the Gulf of Mexico to reduce port congestion. They engaged Audubon to provide owner's engineering services for this deepwater project, which included a single-point mooring buoy, a pipeline, and onshore storage.

Audubon provided comprehensive project management, multidiscipline engineering, and handled permitting for the terminal. The solution implemented by Audubon resulted in the first terminal in Texas capable of handling eight very large crude carriers per month, with a loading capacity of 60,000 barrels per hour. This successfully provided Trafigura with an efficient loading option that alleviated congestion.
