Marathon Oil upgrades 7,000 ft of piping with Audubon

Marathon Oil contracted Audubon for a brownfield expansion project to replace defective water-cooling piping and upgrade heavy vacuum gas oil (HVGO) lines at a facility in Texas. The challenge involved replacing 7,000 feet of large-diameter pipe and 2,600 feet of HVGO piping with a more corrosion-resistant metallurgy while also upgrading valves and instrumentation, all with the goal of minimizing operational disruptions.

Audubon provided a comprehensive EPCM solution, which included front-end engineering and design (FEED), detailed engineering, procurement, and construction management. This integrated approach expedited the construction process and efficiently managed the turnaround (TAR), enabling Marathon Oil to return to full water-cooling and HVGO operations with minimal unnecessary disruption.
