Audubon was contracted by a large midstream oil and gas company to upgrade and segregate an outdated industrial control system at a brownfield fractionation plant in the Marcellus Shale. The customer's challenge was modernizing this system to improve the accuracy and efficiency of its natural gas liquids separation process.

The solution implemented by Audubon involved installing a new Yokogawa CENTUM VP distributed control system for basic process control and an Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLC for the safety instrumented system. As the main automation contractor, Audubon provided programming, communications, testing, and field startup support. Following the upgrade by Audubon, the midstream operator was able to separate its natural gas liquids more accurately and efficiently.
