Mitie Ireland, a subsidiary of a leading UK and Ireland facilities management company, faced a challenge in ensuring it was receiving the best commercial terms from its suppliers. To strengthen its procurement process without risk, the company partnered with cost management consultancy Auditel on a share-of-savings basis.

Auditel consultant Paul Millican conducted a thorough review of Mitie's supply base, focusing on creating efficient, fair relationships rather than simply squeezing prices. This approach delivered significant financial results, including over €1 million in savings on fleet costs alone, while also enhancing the company's reputation. The partnership generated savings across numerous categories, most notably in waste (27%) and mobile phones (22%), and allowed Mitie to forego an in-house procurement resource, saving an additional £100,000 in payroll.
