A Auditel Case Study
The Wallich, a homelessness charity in Wales, was facing a significant challenge in procuring and managing energy for its extensive portfolio of over 150 properties. The complex and time-consuming task was diverting focus from their core mission, and a lack of internal expertise in energy markets meant they were not achieving best value from their suppliers. They engaged the cost management consultancy Auditel to handle their electricity and gas procurement.
Auditel first tackled out-of-contract supplies, achieving immediate savings of 16% on electricity and 49% on gas. They then tendered the charity's main contracts, facilitating a switch to new suppliers that delivered annual savings of over £9,000 on electricity and £5,400 on gas. Furthermore, Auditel provided detailed reporting and took over all meter management and bill validation, significantly reducing the administrative burden on The Wallich's finance team and allowing them to concentrate on delivering vital services.
