Christ College Brecon, a school with historic buildings and modern operational challenges, needed to control its overhead expenditure while maintaining high standards for its pupils. They partnered with cost management consultancy Auditel, who began with a free business health check to identify potential savings, focusing initially on utilities.

Auditel consultant Denis Brennan expertly analyzed the school's contracts, successfully renegotiating its fixed-line telecoms for a 34% saving. Auditel then achieved substantial reductions in energy costs, saving 56% on gas in the first year and a further 21% the next, along with a 16% saving on electricity that was repeated in a second year. These significant, measured savings allowed the college to reinvest in its facilities, and Auditel's role was expanded to review other spending categories.
