A AudioShake Case Study
Astigmatic Records, an independent Polish label, discovered a major issue while mastering a 1970s archival broadcast of the Tomasz Stanko Quintet for a vinyl release. The stereo recording had severe phase problems, particularly with the trumpet, which made it impossible to produce a high-quality analog record. They needed access to individual stems to fix the mix, but the original multi-tracks were lost. Astigmatic Records turned to AudioShake for a solution.
AudioShake used its AI to quickly generate stems from the problematic archival tape. This allowed the sound engineer to seamlessly remix the material, correcting the phase issues while preserving the original atmosphere of the recording. The results enabled the successful mastering and vinyl release of the album, with the sound engineer noting the technology achieved a quality that was previously impossible.
