Lebo Mathosa remixes and Atmos remasters

The customer, Universal Music Group, specifically its South Africa division, sought to honor the late artist Lebo Mathosa on the 15th anniversary of her passing. Their challenge was to remaster her catalog into Dolby Atmos and create new remixes to introduce her music to new audiences, a process that required high-quality separated stems from the original recordings. They partnered with vendor AudioShake to utilize its AI stem separation technology to address this.

AudioShake provided its service to isolate the individual components, or stems, of Mathosa’s songs. This solution enabled Universal Music to successfully produce new Dolby Atmos remasters of the album, which was the first major-label release mastered using AudioShake's technology. Furthermore, the separated stems allowed top South African artists to create new remixes, re-imagining the music for a younger generation and expanding the artist's legacy.
