A AudioShake Case Study
Decca Records faced a challenge when preparing Andrea Bocelli's "Duets" album for a Dolby Atmos release. A key duet with Luciano Pavarotti was recorded live in 1995, and the individual audio stems required for the spatial mix were unavailable. The record label turned to vendor AudioShake and its audio separation technology to overcome this obstacle.
AudioShake's solution was to use its technology to isolate the instrumental and individual vocal tracks from the original live recording. This provided Decca with the stems needed to remix the duet into spatial audio, enabling the album's release. As a result, the stems were also used for a live performance where Bocelli sang alongside Pavarotti's isolated voice, an event that was later featured in a major concert film.
