Georgia Military College Migrates to Microsoft Lync With AudioCodes Mediant E-SBCs and Fusion SIP Trunking

Georgia Military College, a multi-campus junior liberal arts college in Georgia, was struggling with unpredictable recurring telecommunications costs and limited collaboration across campuses. Its legacy Centrex service was expensive and difficult to budget, while staff and students needed better communication tools and the ability to keep local phone numbers. AudioCodes helped support the college’s move to Microsoft Lync Unified Communications with Mediant SBC-E and gateway solutions, along with Fusion SIP Trunking.

AudioCodes implemented a phased migration that integrated Microsoft OCS/Lync with AudioCodes Mediant 1000 and Mediant 800 SBC-E devices, then replaced Centrex and most TDM circuits with Fusion SIP Trunking. The result was a fully unified communications environment that improved interoperability, security, and responsiveness across campuses. Georgia Military College cut monthly recurring telecommunications charges by 80% and reduced per-user communications costs, freeing funds for other student programs.
