Harvard University needed to preserve the tradition and visual elegance of its centuries-old Commencement ceremony while also improving security and attendee visibility for an event that draws more than 32,000 graduates and guests. After safety concerns heightened following major public security events, Harvard worked with AudienceView and its AudienceView Grad platform to modernize ticketing without sacrificing the appeal of physical keepsake tickets.

AudienceView implemented a secure, barcode-enabled ticketing process that collected attendee details online, printed individual barcodes on physical tickets, and enabled scanning at 11 entry gates for real-time attendance tracking and better emergency preparedness. With AudienceView Grad’s on-site technical expertise and project management support, Harvard’s first in-person Commencement in three years ran smoothly, with staff praising the team as true partners who helped ensure a flawless, safe, and efficient event.
