Transforming American Chemical Society’s Online Journals

The American Chemical Society (ACS) faced the challenge of replacing its in-house e-publishing technology with a more efficient online journal experience while still retaining full control over content, business models, and site updates. ACS selected Atypon and its Literatum publishing platform to support the delivery of its journal program.

Atypon implemented a new integrated publishing platform and website for ACS, including new user interfaces, multi-data-centre support, XML workflow migration, and tools for improved search, browsing, and article navigation. The site launched on budget and on schedule, delivering a better user experience and enhanced functionality for librarians, researchers, and ACS members, while supporting real-time business continuity across sites.
