A Attunity Case Study
The University of Maryland University College (UMUC) needed to unify 10 terabytes of data from learning, student, financial, and CRM systems spread across Oracle, SQL Server, Salesforce, and other cloud applications. Its challenge was to aggregate and normalize these disparate sources into a data warehouse for analysis, and its legacy Oracle Streams process could not handle non-Oracle data, forcing time-consuming manual extraction.
UMUC chose Attunity for Amazon Redshift through AWS Marketplace to streamline data movement and centralize management. Using **Attunity**, the university replicated data from Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server into an Amazon RDS-based ODS, applied ETL, and loaded it into Amazon Redshift for BI and analytics; the solution was configured in hours and enabled near real-time replication, easier validation, and operational cost savings.
