Police Mutual Assurance Society Improves Customer Service with Attunity Integration Suite

Police Mutual Assurance Society, which serves more than 170,000 police officers and their families, needed to improve customer service while staying within tight regulatory, financial, and IT constraints. The organization wanted to modernize its legacy Adabas on OpenVMS environment and move from terminal-based applications to Windows without disrupting systems that were already tailored to its members’ needs. Attunity Integration Suite, including Attunity Connect, was selected to provide the middleware needed for this transition.

Attunity implemented Attunity Connect to integrate Adabas data with Windows, intranet, and browser-based applications, allowing PMAS users to view member records, manage medical histories, generate reports, transfer data to a new finance system, and handle premium payment issues. The project was completed in about four months, with initial results in just six weeks of development, and PMAS went on to build five systems on the platform. The solution reduced administration overhead, reused existing legacy assets, improved service delivery, and helped PMAS win a quality mark for raising service standards.
