Mercedes-Benz saves 25 man-days annually on QA refreshes

Mercedes-Benz USA, responsible for distributing and servicing Mercedes-Benz and Maybach vehicles in the U.S., was struggling with complex SAP environments, frequent QA refreshes, and the need for fresh, stable test data across multiple development projects. The company needed a way to provide developers with targeted data on demand without disrupting ongoing work, while also preserving version and number-sequence information. Attunity Gold Client Solutions was the vendor/product evaluated to address these SAP data refresh challenges.

Attunity implemented Gold Client Solutions, including Data Echo, Client Construct, and Data Snap, enabling Mercedes-Benz to selectively copy master and transactional SAP data into DEV and QA environments. The result was faster testing and problem resolution, less downtime, and reduced infrastructure costs; master data could be pulled in under an hour, QA refreshes dropped from three days to two, and staffing for refreshes was cut from four people to two. Overall, Mercedes-Benz saved about 25 man-days per year on QA refreshes.
