Gold Client achieves Safe Harbor objectives and reduces refresh requirements of Mentor Graphics

Mentor Graphics, a global leader in electronic hardware and software design solutions, needed a way to mask sensitive data in SAP development, testing, and training environments to support U.S.-EU Safe Harbor compliance. At the same time, the company wanted to reduce the time and disruption caused by frequent SAP quarterly refreshes, and it turned to Attunity and its Gold Client Solutions to meet both goals.

Attunity implemented Gold Client Solutions across Mentor’s ERP, CRM, SRM, and HR systems in about 90 days, using out-of-the-box masking, replacing, and scrambling rules plus Data Snap for selective data copying. The result was immediate compliance support and a major reduction in refresh effort, saving at least six days for multiple SAP team members in the first year, freeing BASIS staff to work on other projects, and enabling more users to access QA systems. Mentor also used Attunity Gold Client to troubleshoot production issues and improve testing, training, and overall productivity.
