South Shore YMCA - Customer Case Study

The South Shore YMCA, a long-standing Massachusetts-based organization, faced challenges in delivering effective and engaging organization-wide training to its diverse 500-person workforce. Their traditional methods, including PDFs and face-to-face sessions, were difficult to coordinate and resulted in low information retention. Partnering with Attensi, they sought a modern solution to move beyond a tick-box exercise and ensure training was applied in day-to-day roles, utilizing the Attensi PORTAL and SKILLS services.

Attensi implemented a game-based training platform called 'Why of the Y'. This interactive and bitesize solution allowed for flexible, mobile-first learning and featured a motivating leaderboard. The results were significant, with over 20,000 playthroughs and an average of six repetitions per module per person, demonstrating high engagement. Over 90% of staff recommended the training, which successfully built a stronger sense of community across different departments and provided measurable success for the YMCA leadership.
