How they trained 5,000 employees in 2 months with simulation-based training

Lillestrøm Municipality, a large Norwegian public authority, faced the challenge of training over 5,000 of its employees on new administrative and patient record systems within a very tight timeframe. Following a merger, the municipality needed a scalable solution that was more efficient than the traditional classroom training they had previously relied on. They partnered with the vendor Attensi to implement a solution using their PROCESS simulation-based training.

Attensi built 3D gamified simulations that replicated the employees' real-world tasks and interactions. This solution allowed staff to learn through repetition and friendly competition, with progress tracked via certifications. As a result, Attensi enabled the training of all 5,000 employees in just two months, a feat that would have taken years with previous methods. The training was also a success with staff, with 93% stating they would use what they learned in their daily jobs and 88% saying they would recommend it to a colleague.
