Game-based training helps close 98% of the knowledge gap

The Fragrance Shop, a major UK perfume retailer, faced the complex challenge of training its large workforce across 200+ stores on a constantly changing product range of over 150 brands. To maintain its award-winning customer service, the company needed an efficient and effective training solution that would close significant knowledge gaps. They partnered with vendor Attensi to address this need using a gamified approach.

Attensi implemented its game-based training solution, creating a custom mobile-first 3D simulation platform called ScentBox and utilizing its PORTAL product as a centralized hub. This solution featured over 160 modules covering product knowledge and process training. The results were exceptional: Attensi helped The Fragrance Shop achieve a 98% closure of the knowledge gap, with staff performance improving from 39% to 99% on final assessment attempts. The training was highly engaging, receiving a 90% staff engagement rate and being accessed over 2.1 million times.
