Wistia, a video marketing platform that hosts the annual WistiaFest conference, needed a central, brandable place to communicate logistics and foster community without dedicating engineering resources to a custom app. The goal was an easy-to-use, pre-built solution a non-technical events team could manage to keep attendees informed before, during, and after the multi-day Boston event.
Wistia used a customizable event app that their events and marketing leads populated and a designer matched to WistiaFest branding; push notifications guided attendees and social features let participants post photos, arrange meetups, and engage organically. The app drove strong engagement (478 downloads, 26,599 sessions, 304 profiles), sustained activity during and after the event, improved logistics and sponsor visibility, and prompted plans to expand analytics and gamification for future festivals.
