How BankSocial Uses Event Marketing to Improve Social Media for Banks

#BankSocial is the only conference focused on content marketing and social media for banks and credit unions, attracting attendees from institutions like US Bank, TD Bank and PenFed. Run by a two-person team, founders John Siracusa and Digital Marketing Manager Bryan Majano faced a familiar industry challenge: strict compliance and limited internal resources left many financial institutions unsure how to launch or scale social media, while the event needed a way to drive high attendee engagement and streamline on-site communication.

They solved it with a branded, DIY Attendify event app that combined agenda/speaker tools with a private social feed, seed content, demos and personalized outreach to make networking and feedback easy. Making the app central to the event produced strong engagement—about 173 downloads, 10,997 sessions, 121 profiles and 149 photos in the app, plus 2,500 Twitter mentions of #BankSocial—helping attendees connect, message and rate sessions, and giving the team a scalable platform to expand social networking at future conferences.
