Bauverein der Elbgemeinden (BVE) is one of Germany’s largest housing cooperatives and Hamburg’s biggest apartment provider, serving nearly 20,000 members and managing 13,600 apartments. When BVE needed to upgrade its workstations to Windows 7, its existing host-access solution couldn’t support the new OS or a more user-friendly interface for its specialized GES ERP, creating a risk to both modern productivity and legacy system continuity.

Using Micro Focus Reflection, BVE migrated its legacy applications to a .NET front end that enabled a seamless Windows 7 rollout, mobile access from iPads, tablets and Windows RT, and integration with external services such as a janitorial app. The project delivered automated host logins and workflows, Office integration, barcode generation and a simpler UI, resulting in a smooth migration, modernized user experience, improved mobile access and reduced IT complexity.
