Poste Italiane Group, Italy’s leading postal operator with thousands of post offices, ATMs and sorting centers, relies on a mainframe for core financial, mobile and HR data. The company needed a fast, secure, centrally manageable way to give management offices and branches PC-based access to that mainframe for about 20,000 users, with three-tier architecture, disaster recovery and minimal desktop IT intervention.

Poste Italiane implemented Micro Focus Reflection for the Web, a browser-based, centrally hosted terminal emulation solution that delivers automatic updates, platform independence and strong encryption, authentication and token/LDAP authorization. The rollout gave users rapid, secure web access to mainframe applications, centralized session management, reduced desktop administration and ensured disaster-recovery capabilities and ongoing vendor support.
