Case Study: Betclic achieves cloud-first, high-performance analytics with AtScale

A AtScale Case Study

Preview of the Betclic Case Study

Modernizing Legacy OLAP For Cloud-First Data Analytics

Betclic, a European online gambling company, faced scalability limits with its on‑premises SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) cubes—one cube holding two years of data took three to four hours to refresh and could not be replicated in the cloud. To modernize its analytics stack and adopt a cloud‑first approach ahead of major sporting events, Betclic turned to AtScale to replace SSAS and connect users to cloud data stores.

AtScale implemented a semantic layer that lets Excel and Tableau access live Snowflake data, migrating all Excel analyses (including the largest workbooks) and exposing 15 years of data instead of the legacy cube’s single year. As a result, queries that were previously impossible now run in minutes, data is refreshed multiple times per day rather than once, SSAS cubes were decommissioned, on‑prem infrastructure costs eliminated, and business users gained faster, more granular analytics for better decision‑making.
