A Atrius Case Study
Wylie Independent School District, a fast-growing K–12 district near Dallas serving 17,000+ students across 41 square miles and 25 buildings, needed to rapidly scale back operations during the COVID-19 shutdown and accurately track energy performance. Facilities manager Marcia Coker centralized data from 25 buildings and 100+ meters in BuildingOS, used dashboards and automatic setback alerts to verify base-load operation, and developed a long-term shutdown and measurement plan.
Using BuildingOS Projects (IPMVP Option C) Coker created regression-based baselines that normalize for weather and occupancy to measure and verify savings. The district tracked over $53,000 in electricity savings so far and is on pace for $120,000 during the shutdown; savings were forecasted for 2021, budgeted accordingly, and reinvested into remote learning (e.g., additional Chromebooks), demonstrating clear fiscal responsibility.
