A Atrius Case Study
Sabey Data Centers is a privately owned operator with more than three million square feet of mission‑critical space across five campuses, running 24/7 to support global digital needs. Because data centers are energy‑intensive, Sabey faces the challenge of drastically reducing its carbon footprint—including operational (scope 1 and 2), supply‑chain and embodied construction emissions—while maintaining uptime and meeting customer expectations. The company has committed to ambitious net‑zero targets (targeting net‑zero carbon by 2030, with scope 1–2 reductions by 2029) and sought credible, measurable ways to get there.
To meet that goal Sabey doubled down on energy efficiency and rigorous measurement: it uses ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager to centralize energy, water, and waste data, pursues greenhouse‑gas accounting across scopes, and collaborates through groups like the Climate Pledge, CEBA, and SBTi (which approved its targets). The result is validated net‑zero commitments, stronger portfolio visibility to spot and correct anomalies, ongoing reduction of embodied and operational emissions, and a collaborative roadmap that aligns operations, customers, and stakeholders toward measurable progress.
