City of Orlando unifies data from 550 buildings for easy benchmarking

The City of Orlando faced the challenge of managing energy data for its 550-building portfolio to guide its efficiency investments and support its sustainability goals. Manually processing over 5,500 utility meters each month was inefficient, and the city needed an automated solution for benchmarking and data-driven decision making. To address this, they partnered with vendor Atrius and its BuildingOS platform.

The solution from Atrius automated utility data collection and integrated it into a single interface, providing a portfolio-wide view for benchmarking and tracking the return on investment from $16M in efficiency projects. This enabled the City of Orlando to move from speculative guesswork to data-driven management, validating savings and supporting its goal to become one of the most sustainable cities in the United States.
