NTB North Sea Terminal Bremerhaven, a major container hub handling more than 3 million TEU a year, needed a way to manage highly complex, round-the-clock port operations with fluctuating workloads, strict qualification requirements, and frequent absences. The company turned to Atoss and its ATOSS Logistics Solution to schedule shifts for around 630 production workers and keep staffing aligned with operational demands.
Atoss implemented a workforce scheduling and time management system that automatically factors in legislation, absences, working time balances, qualifications, employee requests, and port-specific agreements. All 750 NTB employees were connected through Self Services, giving them access to shift plans, working time accounts, and holiday requests via PC or smartphone. The result was smoother personnel logistics and more reliable operations across NTB’s 360-day-a-year, three-shift environment.
